Visit Hamamian Mosque in West Azarbaijan Province

Historic Hamamian Mosque is located 5 kilometers from Bukan.

Historic Hamamian Mosque is located five kilometers from Bukan in village of Hamamianin in Iran's West Azarbaijan Province.

Besides the mosque, there are the remains of the old school of Hamamian village and some of its classrooms are still intact. The construction of this mosque dates back to the time before the World War II.

Considered one of the unique religious architectures in Iran, the Hamamian Mosque is a square-shaped building. The mosque is built from a combination of rubble from nearby mines, clay bricks, and walnut wood.

The foundation, a masterpiece of architecture and resistant to earthquakes and storms, is laid twenty meters deep.

The northern facade of the Hamamian Mosque, surrounded by the beautiful and unique gardens of the village, is formed by the combination of a small porch and columns.
